Job Description
To service, maintain, and repair all mechanical-related issues in Ground Handling Support Equipment (GSE) for efficient and safe service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, processes, procedures, and local standards to maintain controlled and consistent work execution.
- Foster and maintain a positive safety culture to ensure the safety, health, and security of operations while complying with industry/legislative requirements, GSE manufacturers’ guidelines, and company procedures.
- Identify, report, and analyze hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents.
- Service, maintain, and repair mechanical failures in ground handling equipment and motor vehicles according to the maintenance schedule for efficient service delivery.
- Assess mechanical defects in GSE and motor vehicles, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.
- Respond promptly to GSE emergency breakdowns to prevent aircraft delays.
- Perform mechanical repairs, overhauls, and modifications on major equipment components, including engines, gearboxes, transmission systems, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Identify and requisition materials required for the task to ensure the timely availability of GSE and motor vehicles for ground operations.
- Document and maintain records of all maintenance activities and equipment history.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship on all GSE and motor vehicles to enhance safety and positively represent the organization.
- Adhere to KQ WAY principles and best practices.

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Production/Plant/Industrial/Mechatronics Engineering or a relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in an automotive, heavy diesel, or mobile plant environment.
- Proficiency in various automotive systems and repairs.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Effective diagnostic skills and the ability to interpret hydraulic and relevant engineering diagrams.
- Solid understanding of mechanical principles.
- Basic workshop operations, including welding and lathe work.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge in electronics/electricals (Added Advantage).
- Prior experience with GSE equipment (Added Advantage).
- 2-3 years of work experience in an automotive, heavy diesel, or mobile plant environment (Added Advantage).
