Trainer – Information Communication Technology

KCA University is an educational institution founded in 1989 in Nairobi, Kenya. It is dedicated to providing professional and technical training programmes.

The Trainer will be responsible for delivering Information Communication Technology training, fostering learner growth, and actively participating in enhancing the university's professional and technical education offerings. This position plays a crucial role in curriculum development, student assessment, and maintaining high educational standards within the institution.

1. Deliver and facilitate learning sessions through various methods including trainings, seminars, workshops, and tutorials.
2. Participate in the creation, administration, and grading of examinations, practical tasks, assignments, and continuous assessment tests.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of academic policies, guiding principles, objectives, and functions aligned with the Institute's vision.
4. Assist in developing learning materials, preparing schemes of work, and maintaining records to track student progress, achievement, and attendance.
5. Conduct research to inform curriculum development/review and validate learning resources.
6. Support the requisition and management of inventories, realia, tools, and equipment used as learning resources.
7. Provide guidance, advice, and feedback to trainees to support their professional advancement, referring them to support services when necessary.
8. Supervise and assist students during their practical work.
9. Contribute to and participate in departmental seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
10. Encourage trainees' creativity and innovation through active involvement in contests, trade fairs, and projects.
11. Establish industry linkages to facilitate experiential learning, training excursions, and attachments.
12. Participate in departmental, Institute, and/or University-wide meetings, working groups, or committees as requested.
13. Engage in continuous professional development and staff training activities required by regulators to update and enhance skills.
14. Maintain accurate records of students’ examinations, assignments, practical tasks, and continuous assessment tests, ensuring timely entry into the examination records management system.
15. Perform any other duties as assigned.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Communication Technology or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
2. Registered Trainer with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
3. At least two (2) years of teaching experience at a tertiary level or three (3) years of industry-based experience.
4. Certificate of an approved Trainer of Trainers course.
5. A professional qualification or affiliation with a professional association is an added advantage.
