Job Description

The Junior School Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, learner-centered lessons in Kiswahili, Social Studies, and Creative Arts, adhering to the approved curriculum. This involves creating and implementing subject-specific schemes of work, lesson plans, and various instructional materials. The teacher is expected to utilize a range of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and academic abilities. Collaboration with other subject teachers and the curriculum coordinator for interdisciplinary projects and assessments is also a key aspect of this role. The aim is to enhance learner understanding and engagement through clear explanations, practical activities, and real-life applications of the subjects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver engaging, learner-centered, and well-structured lessons in Kiswahili, Social Studies, and Creative Arts according to the approved curriculum.
  2. Prepare and implement subject-specific schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional resources to support effective teaching and learning.
  3. Apply a variety of teaching methodologies and learning resources to address diverse learning styles and academic abilities across the subjects.
  4. Collaborate with fellow subject teachers and the curriculum coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate interdisciplinary projects and assessments.
  5. Provide clear explanations of concepts, practical activities, and real-life applications in Kiswahili, Social Studies, and Creative Arts to enhance learner understanding and engagement.

Requirements

  1. Hold a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Secondary Teaching Education with subject specialization.
  2. Possess at least 3 years of relevant teaching experience.
  3. Be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
  4. Provide a valid certificate of good conduct.
  5. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Be proficient in computer skills.
  7. Possess first aid training.
  8. Have childcare skills.
  9. Exhibit strong organizational skills.
