Job Description

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Ankara is seeking a reliable, disciplined, and hardworking Office Assistant to support day-to-day operations of the Embassy. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, supporting office administration, handling messenger duties, and ensuring a conducive working environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Clean and maintain offices, workspaces, hallways, common areas, and washrooms to high standards.
  2. Sweep, mop, buff, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and office surfaces.
  3. Vacuum carpets and office furnishings regularly.
  4. Ensure office supplies and consumables are adequately stocked and replenished.
  5. Empty trash bins and maintain proper waste disposal procedures.
  6. Carry out office support and messenger duties as assigned.
  7. Arrange meeting venues and ensure meeting rooms are prepared professionally.
  8. Perform gardening and landscaping duties within the Embassy compound.
  9. Monitor heating, cooling, and general building utility systems and report any issues promptly.
  10. Support Embassy staff in maintaining an organized and efficient working environment.
  11. Ensure cleanliness, safety, and orderliness within assigned areas at all times.

Requirements

  1. High School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  2. Good command of spoken and written English and Turkish languages.
  3. Must be between 25 and 40 years of age.
  4. Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions and correspondence.
  5. Medical clearance certificate from a recognized health facility.
  6. Valid Police Clearance Certificate / Certificate of Good Conduct.
  7. Non-Turkish applicants must possess a valid Work Permit or Resident Permit valid for at least six months.
  8. Detailed Curriculum Vitae with three professional referees.
  9. Excellent organizational skills.
  10. Reliability and integrity.
  11. Attention to detail.
  12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  13. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  14. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  15. Relevant supporting documents.
  16. Valid identification and permits where applicable.
