Job Description
The Insurance Specialist will be responsible for managing sales, developing customer value propositions, overseeing portfolio management, and implementing marketing strategies for bancassurance products. This includes collaborating with frontline staff to provide insurance planning services, analyzing customer financial needs, and recommending suitable insurance solutions. The role also involves optimizing sales results through joint reviews, continuous product training, and establishing comprehensive sales processes. Furthermore, the specialist will support product development, manage compliance processes to prevent mis-selling, and ensure adherence to regulatory and business conduct standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with frontline staff to offer professional insurance planning and presales information to potential customers.
- Analyze customer financial situations to identify needs and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
- Determine suitable sales distribution channels and provide quality after-sales services to maintain customer relationships and generate referrals.
- Work closely with frontline staff to optimize sales outcomes and manage sales productivity through joint reviews.
- Conduct continuous product training and development across specific segments.
- Establish and guide the implementation of comprehensive sales processes for products and services across all segments and branches.
- Support product development and deployment of systems and procedures for bancassurance sales and service.
- Increase the penetration of insurance products across various client segments.
- Organize and deliver weekly segment-specific webinars to clients.
- Report daily to the segment head on team participation and organize weekly sales and training meetings for frontline staff.
- Develop and deliver a strong customer value proposition for all bancassurance products.
- Identify market growth and cross-sell opportunities with product managers to increase product holdings and revenue.
- Initiate, execute, and manage marketing programs and strategies aligned with business goals.
- Analyze customer bases to understand profiles and identify opportunities for increasing insurance wallet share.
- Stay informed about market competition and industry best practices to improve business performance.
- Ensure brand compliance for all communications according to Standard Chartered Bank's standards and relevant Insurance Partner.
- Track bancassurance product sales (volume/revenue) to assess quality and growth trends across supported branches/channels.
- Manage bancassurance compliance processes to prevent mis-selling and ensure fair treatment of customers.
- Help plan and implement marketing strategies to acquire, expand, and retain profitable customer relationships and grow market share.
- Identify target customers' financial, insurance, and service needs, recommending and implementing product/service offerings in liaison with the Product Manager.
- Assist in directing, motivating, training, and coaching sales distribution/delivery staff.
- Ensure internal controls are in place, monitor compliance, and review changes in systems, policies, and regulations.
- Comply fully with all policies, procedures, and Key Control Standards to achieve satisfactory audit grades.
- Remain alert to money laundering risks and assist in combating it by adhering to KYC principles and reporting suspicious transactions.
- Support the Business head and Business unit head in driving Operational Risk Framework (ORF) management and compliance.
- Display exemplary conduct and adhere to the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding high standards of ethics, regulatory, and business conduct.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.
Requirements
- Knowledge of insurance products (Life & General).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proven sales skills.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in client portfolio management.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- A Bachelor's Degree in any business-related field.
- Certificate of Proficiency in insurance.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
