Team Leader Warehouse

The role is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfilment, and dispatch of goods. The incumbent will ensure that products and materials are handled efficiently, safely, and accurately, while maintaining compliance with operational standards, health and safety requirements, and inventory governance procedures.

1. Manage the Operational team in the execution of all inbound and outbound movement:
2. In support of the daily load plan, ensure the accurate picking, staging and loading of product for the purposes of on-time outbound movement, and accurate counting, receiving and unloading of product for the purposes of inbound movement, whilst ensuring optimal site turnaround time.
3. Ensure on-time replenishment of picking and staging areas.
4. Manage the team in terms of stock management and inventory accuracy:
5. Full product, containers, and support materials managed within storage locations as per warehouse layout, and adherence to stacking requirements per dedicated bin is enforced
6. Manage an effective and accurate Production Interface:
7. Ensure stock is removed from the production lines / containers and quality pallets are fed to the production lines in such a way that there are no disruptions to the production process, and that all items issued and received are accurately signed off between Warehouse and Manufacturing. (Wet Site)
8. Manage all tasks within the standards of excellent housekeeping:
9. Drive excellent housekeeping standards whilst adhering to warehouse layout guidelines by ensuring the correct product is stacked in the correct bins.
10. Manage the effective care for Company assets within the team:
11. Ensure the operation of company assets such as forklifts and pallet jacks within the team takes place in a safe manner, with the necessary pre-trip inspection process and reporting of damages / breakdown in place.
12. Drive the productive utilisation of assets as indicated by optimal fuel usage and the elimination of abuse.
13. Care for company assets by keeping them in optimal condition according to the company policy and specifications.
14. Manage maintenance service schedule adherence.
15. Drive good product quality:
16. Ensure high product quality by executing an effective rework function within the team, and adhering to the company guidelines in terms of stock rotation and First Expiry, First Out, principles.
17. Drive a strong focus within the team with regards to effective stock rotation and stock age management.
18. Record all breakages and decanting for the purpose of corrective action and improvement.
19. Record and address all substandard quality packaging and damages to maximise recovery and rework while minimising unnecessary write off.
20. Manage the effective execution of system transactions and perform end-of shift reconciliations:
21. Ensure system transactions are accurate and timeous, and perform an end-of-shift reconciliation to verify that all movements are accurate, valid and on-time.

24. Manage the team to ensure resources are aligned to activity requirements per time of day and day of the week

37. Optimal sorting cost spend by close management of the sorting operation
38. Ensure breakages are recorded and managed down, FBR’s related to load accuracy managed down, achievement of operational efficiency standards as per company requirements.
39. Accountable to ensure unaccountable waste is managed down by process adherence and corrective action where adherence is not in place.
40. Leverage information systems to drive achievement of Operational Key Performance Indicators
41. Compliance to governance controls in all areas within the team

1. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. Understanding of warehouse management principles and best practices.
3. Membership of Professional Supply Chain, Finance or Procurement bodies will be an added advantage.
4. Minimum of 5 years in Warehouse operations.
5. At least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a fast-paced bottling or production environment.
6. Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
7. Experience in implementing process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
8. Proven track record of leading and managing a team effectively.
