As Chief Accountant at Freds Ranch & Resort, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our esteemed establishment. This role demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of financial principles, local tax regulations, and best practices in the hospitality sector, ensuring accurate and timely financial data to inform critical business decisions.

You will be at the forefront of managing the resort's accounting department, fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement. 1. Oversee all daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
3. Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes to optimize financial performance.
4. Ensure timely and accurate submission of all statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax.
5. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
6. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance work environment.
7. Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions as required.
8. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA(K) or ACCA qualification is mandatory.
2. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
3. Proven expertise in Kenyan tax laws, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
4. Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills.
5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
6. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and developing a team.
7. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
