1. Planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients on their individual needs
2. Ensuring patients’ nursing needs such as physical, psychological and mental needs are attended to
3. Providing individually tailored care to patients
4. Assisting patients to perform their ordinary daily activities.
5. Monitoring record and report changes in patient’s symptoms.
6. Maintaining accurate reports on patients.
7. Assessing the needs of patients and planning for nursing care.
8. Participating in ward rounds with medical and nursing personnel.
9. Assisting medical staff in the examination and treatment of patients
10. Assisting in clinical investigative procedures.
11. Orienting and supervising new staff and students.
12. Ensuring proper coordination and smooth running of the ward activities.
13. Ensuring good communication with patients and other departments for continuity of patient care
14. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to set standards and procedures
15. Ensuring that patients discharged from the wards take with them the prescribed drugs and discharge summaries and follow up on any scheduled appointments.
16. Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required

1. Diploma in KRCHN/KRN/M
2. BSc Nursing
3. Computer Proficiency.
4. Registered with NCK with a valid practicing license.
5. Minimum 1 year post qualification experience in Nursing.
