The Credit Control Officer will oversee all credit and collections activities within the organization, ensuring that customer credit requirements are fulfilled. This role is crucial for upholding the company's credit policy and procedures, requiring meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities. Candidates should have a solid background in credit management and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch monthly statements and invoices to clients promptly.
- Improve cash flow by ensuring customer adherence to payment plans.
- Maintain organized and well-kept client records, including invoices, demand letters, and credit appraisals.
- Provide necessary debt collection information to departments and branches.
- Resolve customer complaints efficiently and effectively.
- Recommend adjustments to debtor accounts for supervisory approval.
- Report information that helps identify risks in credit services.
- Prepare required schedules such as weekly/monthly credit review reports, doubtful/bad debts reports, and billing, collections, and resolutions reports.
- Ensure strict compliance with credit policies.
- Plan and conduct customer visits when required.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar credit control position.
- Demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Show proven expertise in debt management.
- Exhibit excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Be capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
