Scholarship Description
The Scholarship Coordinator will serve as the key link between SHOFCO, schools, families, and scholars. The role focuses on ensuring vulnerable girls are enrolled in school, supported holistically, and remain in education through continuous mentorship, monitoring, and community engagement.
Program Highlights
- Build strong relationships with schools, principals, bursars, and teachers
- Work with SUN committees to identify and support eligible students
- Liaise with families to ensure active involvement in learners’ education
- Collaborate with local organizations and government bodies supporting vulnerable girls
- Coordinate mentorship programs and school holiday activities
- Provide psychosocial support and mentorship to scholarship recipients
- Monitor student attendance, performance, and wellbeing
- Identify and flag at-risk students for intervention
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new scholars and families
- Escalate critical welfare cases to the Gender and Scholarship teams
- Ensure continuous engagement with parents/guardians
- Maintain accurate and updated scholar databases
- Manage scholarship application and recruitment pipelines
- Conduct home and school visits for monitoring purposes
- Ensure timely submission of required scholar documents
- Support data collection, verification, and reporting
- Contribute to program improvement and evaluation processes
- Provide insights for improving scholarship delivery systems
- Support efficiency and impact improvements in field operations
Eligibility / Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Education, Social Work, Community Development or related field
- Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage
- At least 2 years experience in education, youth programs, or community-based work
- Experience working with vulnerable communities preferred
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Counselling or psychosocial support certification
- Strong data management and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and networking abilities
- Ability to work in field/community settings
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
