Job Description

Key Performance Areas include market and business development, value sales growth, architects & construction influencers engagement, institutional & partnership development, and market intelligence & strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify, evaluate, and open new market segments for existing and new MRM products, including value-sales and solution-based offerings.
  2. Drive go-to-market strategies for new products, applications, and customer segments.
  3. Develop structured market entry plans for institutional, affordable housing, and organized group markets.
  4. Manage sales and promote the company through the e-commerce platform.
  5. Develop new geographical markets through managing and deploying the mobile showroom in effective and efficient manner.
  6. Own and drive value sales growth, focusing on higher-margin products, bundled solutions, and specification-led opportunities.
  7. Work closely with the core sales teams to convert identified opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.
  8. Track and report value-segment performance, pipeline health, and conversion metrics.
  9. Build strong relationships with architects, consultants, quantity surveyors, engineers, and developers.
  10. Drive product specification and early-stage influence in projects and developments.
  11. Organize and support CPD sessions, technical presentations, and specification forums in collaboration with Marketing and Sales teams.
  12. Establish and manage partnerships with SACCOs and cooperative societies, financial institutions and housing finance partners, NGOs and donor-funded housing programs, parastatals, county governments, and large institutions.
  13. Develop commercial frameworks and collaboration models that enable scalable adoption of MRM products.
  14. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure partnership models are operationally viable and compliant.
  15. Gather and analyze market intelligence, competitor activity, and emerging construction trends.
  16. Provide structured feedback to leadership on new opportunities, risks, and strategic priorities.
  17. Support leadership in shaping long-term value growth strategy.

Requirements

  1. Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or any related field
  2. Added Advantage: Postgraduate qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Strategy
  3. Total Experience: 10–12 years
  4. Relevant Experience: 4–6 years in business development, strategic sales, or market development roles
  5. Industry Exposure: Building materials, construction, real estate, infrastructure, or related sectors
  6. Strategic thinking and market development capability
  7. Strong stakeholder and influencer management skills
  8. Commercial acumen and value-selling orientation
  9. Partnership development and negotiation skills
  10. An analytical, structured, and data-driven approach
  11. Excellent communication and presentation skills
  12. Entrepreneurial and opportunity-driven mindset
  13. Results-oriented with a long-term strategic view
  14. High integrity and professional credibility
  15. Self-motivated, resilient, and proactive
  16. Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building from scratch
