Staff Nurse – Midwife

Mater Misericordiae Hospital, a prominent healthcare provider in East and Central Africa, is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse – Midwife. This role is crucial for delivering exceptional, compassionate, and Christ-centered healthcare services to patients. The successful candidate will join an innovative, engaged, and competent team, contributing to the hospital's commitment to high-quality patient care.

1. Plan, provide, and evaluate nursing care tailored to individual patient needs.
2. Ensure all physical, psychological, and mental nursing needs of patients are met.
3. Deliver personalized care to patients.
4. Assist patients with daily activities.
5. Monitor, record, and report any changes in patient symptoms.
6. Maintain precise patient reports.
7. Assess patient needs and develop nursing care plans.
8. Participate in ward rounds with medical and nursing staff.
9. Support medical staff during patient examinations and treatments.
10. Assist with clinical investigative procedures.
11. Orient and supervise new staff and students.
12. Coordinate and ensure the smooth operation of ward activities.
13. Maintain effective communication with patients and other departments for continuous care.
14. Uphold a safe and clean working environment by following established standards and procedures.
15. Ensure discharged patients receive prescribed medications, discharge summaries, and follow-up appointment details.
16. Engage in departmental quality improvement initiatives and submit required reports.

1. Hold a Diploma in KRCHN/KRN/M.
2. Possess a BSc in Nursing.
3. Have a Higher National Diploma in Midwifery.
4. Be proficient in computer use.
5. Be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and hold a valid practicing license.
6. Have a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience in midwifery nursing.
