Job Description

This role offers broad exposure across HR and administration and is ideal for a highly organized, dependable, and people-oriented professional. The successful candidate will support employee lifecycle activities, payroll administration, office operations, and compliance while working closely with management and field teams.

The position requires excellent organizational skills, confidentiality, initiative, and the ability to work in a dynamic conservation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain employee records and files.
  2. Prepare routine HR reports and documentation.
  3. Ensure confidentiality and proper filing.
  4. Coordinate attendance, leave and overtime.
  5. Support payroll processing and statutory compliance.
  6. Maintain benefits and welfare records.
  7. Support HR policies and labour law compliance.
  8. Handle employee queries, grievances and disciplinary processes.
  9. Promote staff welfare and a positive culture.
  10. Maintain safety records and support compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
  11. Administer medical insurance and welfare programmes.
  12. Coordinate recruitment and onboarding.
  13. Conduct staff inductions and maintain training records.
  14. Support performance management and development.
  15. Manage office supplies and records.
  16. Coordinate meetings, travel and logistics.
  17. Support fleet and asset administration.
  18. Provide administrative support to Finance & Operations and ensure effective communication with ranch teams.

Requirements

  1. Diploma or Bachelor's in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience in HR, Administration or a similar role.
  3. Knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and statutory requirements.
  4. Experience supporting payroll administration.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  6. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  7. Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
  8. Willingness to travel weekly to the ranch.
  9. Experience in conservancies.
  10. Experience in ranches and agricultural enterprises.
  11. Experience in NGOs and community-based organisations.
  12. Experience supporting multi-site operations.
  13. CHRP/IHRM membership or in progress is an added advantage.
  14. Staff welfare experience in remote areas.
  15. Familiarity with the Tsavo ecosystem.
  16. Basic IT troubleshooting skills.
