Job Description
Reporting to the Data Manager for Data Science & Analytics, the Data Scientist plays a crucial role in guiding the business on leveraging data for new insights. This involves applying advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization techniques to develop solutions that enhance overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop econometric and statistical models for various business challenges, including projections, classification, clustering, pattern analysis, sampling, and simulations.
- Establish a strong foundation of scientific and technical capabilities within the Data, Analytics & AI department to support ongoing and planned data projects.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the business by thoroughly understanding problem domains and available data assets, particularly those related to strategic initiatives.
- Conduct ad-hoc data mining and exploration on large datasets relevant to business strategies.
- Generate actionable insights using advanced statistical methods such as predictive models, segmentation, customer profiling, survey design, and data mining.
- Collaborate with fellow data scientists to communicate challenges and findings to stakeholders, improving decision-making and driving business performance.
- Champion continuous improvement in team workflows to ensure efficient, impactful engagement and accurate service delivery.
- Ensure complete adherence to all company policies, procedures, and statutory guidelines.
- Participate in project execution, ensuring project scope is clear, completed on time, and meets service delivery specifications.
- Resolve audit issues within the quarter of identification or agreed timelines.
- Maintain strong relationships and communication with stakeholders to ensure satisfaction, address concerns, and meet expectations.
- Keep competency assessments and development plans current and actioned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Economics, or a related quantitative field; equivalent work experience is also accepted.
- Certification in Big Data, Data Science, or Generative AI from a recognized institution.
- At least three years of experience in business analysis/informatics and business outcomes research within a dynamic and complex business environment.
- Practical experience in deploying Generative AI and Agentic AI use cases is an advantage.
- Experience with probability and statistics, time-series analysis, or econometrics.
- Proficiency in machine learning methods such as linear regression and decision trees.
- In-depth knowledge of the Python programming language.
- Experience with cloud data science platforms like AWS SageMaker.
- Substantial knowledge of big data platforms.
- Ability to think creatively, be highly driven, and self-motivated.
- Strategic perspective with the capacity to analyze complex issues, develop action plans, and deliver results.
- Capability to synthesize and analyze diverse data and information, then develop and recommend strategies.
