Job Description

Peaks Hotel, a premier hospitality destination nestled in the scenic heart of Nanyuki, is looking for a highly motivated Operations Manager to lead our dedicated team. This pivotal role is responsible for orchestrating the seamless execution of all hotel services, from front office and housekeeping to food & beverage, ensuring every guest enjoys an unparalleled stay reflective of our high standards.

The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a hands-on approach, committed to fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in driving guest satisfaction, optimizing operational workflows, and contributing significantly to the hotel's profitability and reputation within Kenya's vibrant tourism sector.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and manage all daily hotel operations across various departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance.
  2. Ensure the highest standards of guest service and satisfaction are consistently met and exceeded.
  3. Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor departmental heads and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  4. Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies, procedures, and service standards to enhance efficiency and quality.
  5. Manage hotel budgets, control costs, and optimize revenue generation in line with business objectives.
  6. Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations.
  7. Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally to ensure swift resolution.
  8. Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and execute strategic plans for hotel growth and improvement.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hotel operations management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a 4-star or 5-star hotel.
  3. Proven track record of managing diverse teams and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, cost control, and revenue optimization.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  6. Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. In-depth knowledge of local tourism trends, regulations, and market dynamics in Kenya.
  8. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by hotel operations.
