Fullstack Developer (6 months Fixed Term Contract)

Britam Holdings Plc is a leading diversified financial services group, established in 1965, with operations in banking, financial services, and insurance. It is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.

Developer with expertise in .NET Core and DevExpress XAF (eXpressApp Framework) to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications. The developer will work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to deliver robust solutions that meet business requirements and align with best practices.

1. Develop and maintain web and desktop applications using .NET Core and DevExpress XAF.
2. Design and implement user interfaces using DevExpress XAF modules, ensuring consistent user experience and adherence to UI/UX standards.
3. Integrate third-party APIs and services to extend application functionalities.
4. Collaborate with business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
5. Perform code reviews, optimize application performance, and ensure scalability.
6. Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
7. Implement secure coding practices to safeguard data integrity and prevent vulnerabilities.
8. Develop database schemas, stored procedures, and queries using MS SQL Server or other RDBMS.
9. Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes, including sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and retrospectives.
10. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed modules and features.
11. Implementing and testing database design and functionality and tuning for performance
12. Research and provide input on design approach, performance and base functionality improvements for various procedures and applications.
13. Generation of ideas to improve efficiency in software and application services offered to the business, and/or generate revenue for business.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in .NET Core and DevExpress XAF development.
3. Strong understanding of C#, LINQ or Entity Framework, and RESTful APIs.
4. Proficiency in creating complex reports and dashboards using DevExpress Reporting.
5. Experience with MS SQL Server, including database design, optimization, and query development.
6. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
