Job Description

HR INFORMATION SYSTEM (HRIS) ANALYST & PAYROLL PROCESSING OFFICER

Key Responsibilities

  1. Configure, maintain and enhance HRIS platforms
  2. Ensure the HRIS integrates seamlessly with payroll and other organizational systems.
  3. Troubleshoot technical issues and implement system upgrades.
  4. Maintain accurate employee records (e.g., personal details, job classifications, pay grades).
  5. Ensure the integrity and security of employee data within the HRIS.
  6. Generate HR reports, including headcount, turnover, time-off balances, and payroll summaries.
  7. Develop dashboards for management to track key HR and payroll metrics.
  8. Provide training and support to HR team and larger staff workforce on system functionality.
  9. Act as the primary point of contact for HRIS-related queries.
  10. Process employee payroll accurately and on time, including salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
  11. Manage timekeeping systems and ensure hours worked are recorded properly.
  12. Ensure payroll complies with local tax regulations.
  13. Prepare and submit payroll-related tax and statutory filings
  14. Monitor changes in labor laws and tax policies to maintain compliance.
  15. Administer employee benefits deductions (e.g. Insurance, retirement plans).
  16. Handle reimbursements, and other special payments.
  17. Reconcile payroll accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  18. Generate payroll reports for internal audits, budgeting, and compliance purposes.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Proficiency in HRIS platforms and payroll systems
  3. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and reporting tools.
  4. Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends.
  5. In-depth understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  6. Familiarity with time-tracking systems and payroll reporting.
  7. High accuracy in managing sensitive employee and payroll data.
  8. Ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies promptly.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with HR, IT, finance, and employees.
  10. Clear communication to explain payroll details and system processes.
  11. Professional certifications such as CHRP, ACCA or CPA.
  12. 2–5 years of experience in HRIS, payroll, or a related role.
  13. Hands-on experience with payroll software and HRIS platforms.
