Job Description

Are you a seasoned hospitality professional with a passion for culinary excellence and impeccable service? Freds Ranch & Resort, a premier destination in Kenya, is looking for a dedicated Restaurant Manager to lead our vibrant dining team. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the gastronomic experience for our diverse clientele, from local guests to international visitors, ensuring every meal is a memorable occasion.

As Restaurant Manager, you will be at the forefront of our food and beverage operations, driving operational efficiency, maintaining high standards of quality, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. You will be instrumental in upholding the resort's reputation for outstanding hospitality, contributing significantly to our guest satisfaction and overall business success within the dynamic Kenyan tourism landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction.
  2. Manage and train restaurant staff, including servers, bartenders, and hosts, fostering a high-performance team.
  3. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  4. Monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and control costs to meet budgetary targets.
  5. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including HACCP standards.
  6. Handle guest inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, resolving issues to satisfaction.
  7. Collaborate with the kitchen team to optimize menu offerings and ensure consistent food quality.
  8. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to staff.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in restaurant management, preferably within a resort or high-end establishment in Kenya.
  3. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  4. Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and cost control.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  6. Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems.
  7. Knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and health regulations is a significant advantage.
