Product Owner

HFCB Kenya Limited is a banking and financial services company founded in 1965.

He/She will work closely with Scrum Masters, Developers, UX/UI Designers, and Business Stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable tasks and deliver customer-centric digital solutions.

1. Develop and maintain a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the organization’s business objectives.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify customer needs and market opportunities.
3. Continuously refine the product vision based on market trends, customer feedback, and strategic goals.
4. Create and maintain a well-defined product backlog, prioritizing features based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
5. Write clear, concise, and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
6. Prioritize backlog items to ensure that the development team is focused on delivering the most valuable features.
7. Actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
8. Ensure that the development team understands the product vision and goals of each sprint.
9. Review and accept completed stories, ensuring they meet the acceptance criteria and quality standards.
10. Conduct market research and customer analysis to understand the user journey and pain points.
11. Monitor product performance and gather feedback to make data-driven decisions.
12. Incorporate design thinking principle in the product delivery life-cycle.

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an agile environment.
3. Proven experience in creating user stories, managing product backlogs, and prioritizing work.
4. Proficiency with product management tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, Figma
5. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product management principles.
6. Strong understanding of the design thinking methology and has demonstrated experience applying.
7. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
8. Ability to translate business requirements into technical tasks.
