UX/UI Product Designer

NCBA Bank is a financial services provider offering a range of banking products and services.

The right candidate will be at the forefront of research and design for digital platforms across desktop, mobile, API and more. The design team plays an integral part in gathering insights about the attitudes, emotions, motivations and behaviours of customers to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create category-leading products that deliver value for our customers, and for Loop DFS. This is an opportunity to work within a growing design team, to implement and drive exceptional design and solid process.

1. Design aesthetically pleasing mock-ups, flows, and high-resolution production-ready visual layouts for web and mobile
2. Participate in assessments of existing experiences/interfaces, leveraging the power of analytics tools combined with a competency in usability / design best practices
3. Support strategic experience design practice growth initiatives, which may include areas such as marketing, recruitment, and sales
4. Influencing and shaping product roadmaps and key deliverables.
5. Connecting with and understanding the needs of the user through relevant questioning and discovery.
6. Participate in project discovery activities (building a story, doing competitive research, creating user personas, and helping define the overall ‘heart and soul' of the site or application to be built)
7. Working with stakeholders to gather and understand design requirements, planning work across all phases of design using a structured approach and collaborating with researchers to deliver informed design solutions that are fit for purpose.
8. Collaborating with developers on solutions and design handovers.
9. Stakeholder research to understand needs and pain points working with the UX Research team
10. Understand target audiences needs and conduct user research of competitor products
11. Advocate for the user and follow user-centered design principles.
12. Increase knowledge base, keep up with the emerging trends in UX Design field.

1. At least an undergraduate degree or its equivalent in commercial, financial or quantitative discipline.
2. Professional qualification in UX Design.
3. Experience with business analysis.
4. Experience with project management delivery mechanisms and reporting e.g. Agile, Scrum, waterfall
5. Preferably a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in highly automated environment.
6. Experience designing considered user interfaces for digital products and services
7. Extensive knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD etc
8. Deep understanding of typography, colour, layout and motion design principles
9. Bring ideas to life in industry standard tools: After Effects, Invision, Framer or Principle
10. Strong domain knowledge of different digital platforms (iOS/Android, Web)
11. Comfortable working within a fast paced, creative, and rapidly changing environment
12. Ability to meet and exceed expectations under tight timelines
13. Strong knowledge of UX methodologies is a must
14. Experience running research-based workshop sessions
