Senior DevOps Engineer

Absa Bank Kenya PLC is a banking and financial services institution founded in 1916.

Design, implement, and support enterprise DevOps platforms, automation frameworks, and cloud-native delivery pipelines that enable secure, scalable, and reliable software delivery.

1. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
2. Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments.
3. Support cloud-native platforms and container orchestration.
4. Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions.
5. Enhance reliability through monitoring and observability.
6. Enable developer productivity through self-service tooling.
7. Implement DevSecOps controls throughout the SDLC.
8. Support DevOps and DevSecOps strategies aligned to enterprise objectives.
9. Contribute to adoption of modern engineering and automation practices.
10. Ensure platform services meet availability and reliability standards.
11. Enable faster delivery of customer-facing capabilities.
12. Automate operational tasks and optimize platform scalability.
13. Support cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.
14. Drive Infrastructure as Code and GitOps adoption.
15. Evaluate emerging DevOps tools and technologies.
16. Partner with engineering and security teams.
17. Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
18. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
19. Manage Kubernetes and container platforms.
20. Implement monitoring and observability solutions.
21. Promote DevOps tools, automation and platform standardization.
22. Embed security controls into delivery processes.
23. Ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
24. Implement logging, monitoring, tracing and dashboards.
25. Collaborate with developers, architects and business stakeholders.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
2. Industry certifications advantageous: Azure DevOps Engineer, AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), Terraform Associate.
3. 5-8 years experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering.
4. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes.
5. Experience implementing monitoring, logging and observability solutions.
