Job Description
Operate equipment used to purify and clarify water and process or dispose of effluent.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment used to purify and clarify water and process or dispose of effluent.
- Add appropriate treatment chemicals such as alum, soda ash and chlorine.
- Inspect treatment equipment regularly and monitor operating conditions, meters, gauges and control panels.
- Collect and test water and effluent samples, including samples for laboratory analysis.
- Record operational data, meter and gauge readings and maintain accurate treatment-process records.
- Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds and work areas.
- Monitor operational issues and promptly report malfunctions.
- Support compliance with applicable environmental and safety requirements.
- Ensure efficient use of pumps and machines.
Requirements
- Diploma in Water Engineering.
- At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of water and effluent treatment.
- Knowledge of effluent treatment standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Effective communication.
- Planning and organisation.
- Flexibility.
- Ability to drive and possession of a valid driving licence will be an added advantage.
