Job Description
Ndwiga Law is inviting applications from a motivated and career-driven Associate to join its legal team. The successful candidate should have a minimum of one (1) year Post Qualification Experience (PQE) together with practical exposure to Commercial Law, Company Secretarial Practice, and Conveyancing.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an advocate seeking to develop professionally while working alongside experienced legal practitioners in a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will gain valuable exposure to diverse legal matters while contributing to the firm's commitment to delivering practical, client-focused legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in handling commercial law matters by supporting legal transactions, preparing documentation, and providing practical legal solutions for clients.
- Support company secretarial assignments by preparing statutory documents, maintaining corporate records, and assisting with regulatory compliance requirements.
- Assist with conveyancing transactions by preparing legal documents, conducting due diligence, and ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Draft, review, and prepare contracts, legal correspondence, agreements, and other legal documents under the guidance of senior colleagues where necessary.
- Conduct legal research on legislation, case law, and regulatory developments to support ongoing client matters and legal opinions.
- Maintain organized client files, monitor timelines, and ensure assigned work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Communicate professionally with clients while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and the highest standards of legal practice.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the firm to deliver timely, effective, and client-focused legal services.
Requirements
- Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid Practising Certificate.
- Minimum One (1) Year Post Qualification Experience (PQE).
- Practical experience in Commercial Law.
- Exposure to Company Secretarial Practice.
- Experience in Conveyancing.
- Strong legal drafting and legal research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Professional attitude with a commitment to delivering quality legal services.
