Software Engineer

Stanbic Bank Kenya is a financial institution founded in 1958, offering banking and financial services in Kenya.

Design, build and support secure backend services, APIs, integrations and data services for core financial services platforms. This includes insurance and asset management platforms, and extends to other core platforms required to support banking, investment, customer, operational or regulatory journeys. The role focuses on API-first engineering, system integration, service reliability, data quality, security, deployment readiness and production support.

1. Type of Qualification: First Degree
2. Field of Study: Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
3. Preferred Certifications: Cloud fundamentals, API/security certification, Agile/DevOps, database fundamentals or related backend engineering certification
4. Experience Required: 3-5 Years
5. Experience in backend development, API engineering, or systems integration.
6. Hands-on software development experience using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, or other comparable backend technologies.
7. Experience in unit testing, API documentation, environment preparation and readiness, release management support, and production issue troubleshooting.
8. Exposure to the insurance, asset management, banking, or broader financial services industry will be an added advantage.
