Job Description

Freds Ranch & Resort is looking for a dedicated Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our vibrant team. This pivotal role involves working closely with the F&B Manager to oversee all aspects of our food and beverage operations, from fine dining and casual eateries to bars and event catering, ensuring seamless service delivery and high standards across the board.

The successful candidate will play a crucial part in maintaining our reputation for culinary excellence and outstanding guest satisfaction. You will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency, managing staff performance, and contributing to the overall profitability of the F&B department, all while upholding the unique character and quality that Freds Ranch & Resort is known for.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in the day-to-day operations of all F&B outlets.
  2. Oversee service quality, ensuring high standards of guest satisfaction and adherence to resort policies.
  3. Support staff training, development, and performance management within the F&B team.
  4. Monitor inventory, control costs, and minimize waste while maintaining quality standards.
  5. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  6. Contribute to menu development, promotions, and special event planning.
  7. Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints efficiently and professionally.
  8. Prepare operational reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.

Requirements

  1. Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years' progressive experience in Food & Beverage operations, preferably in a resort or 4/5-star hotel setting.
  3. Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Strong understanding of F&B cost control, inventory management, and revenue generation.
  6. Familiarity with local health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations in Kenya.
  7. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
