F&B Supervisor

Hemingways Nairobi is a luxury 5-star boutique hotel dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences and service. This 45-suite property sets a high standard for luxury travel in the region, known for its beautiful symmetry and natural light.

The F&B Supervisor will oversee daily restaurant and outlet operations, ensuring guests receive exceptional service and their feedback is handled professionally. This role involves leading, training, coaching, and motivating the F&B team, as well as monitoring service standards, outlet setup, cleanliness, and adherence to standard operating procedures. The supervisor will also be responsible for cost control, managing inventory and breakages, and ensuring budget targets are met, while also handling reservations, seating, and opening/closing procedures, and maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards.

1. Supervise the daily operations of restaurants and other food and beverage outlets.
2. Ensure guests have exceptional experiences and address any feedback professionally.
3. Lead, train, coach, and motivate members of the F&B team.
4. Monitor service standards, outlet presentation, cleanliness, and compliance with SOPs.
5. Control costs, manage inventory, minimize breakages, and manage overtime to meet budget goals.
6. Handle reservations, seating arrangements, and procedures for opening and closing outlets.
7. Uphold high standards of health, safety, and hygiene.

1. Hold a Diploma or Degree in Hospitality/Hotel Management or an equivalent qualification.
2. HACCP, Train-the-Trainer, or similar certifications are advantageous.
3. Possess five years of F&B experience in a 5-star hotel environment.
4. Have at least two years of experience in a supervisory role within a luxury hospitality setting.
5. Experience working with diverse and multicultural teams.
6. Demonstrate strong leadership and customer service skills.
7. Knowledgeable in Micros POS systems.
8. Possess basic financial and cost control understanding.
9. Have good written and oral communication skills.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
