Relationship Officer - Microfinance

Excelon Limited specializes in providing HR services to MSMEs, helping them overcome HR challenges and foster productive work environments. They are currently recruiting on behalf of a client, a credit-only microfinance company that offers business loans and payroll advances.

This full-time, onsite role is for an experienced Relationship Officer to join a credit-only microfinance company that provides business loans and payroll advances. The primary goal is to significantly grow the customer portfolio, establish and nurture strategic business partnerships, and effectively drive the uptake of quality loan products. The officer will be responsible for the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to managing existing accounts and ensuring timely loan repayments.

1. Identify, prospect, and convert new customers to meet monthly sales targets.
2. Develop strategic partnerships and business-to-business relationships.
3. Manage and expand existing customer accounts within the portfolio.
4. Present loan products clearly to prospective customers and maintain an active sales pipeline.
5. Follow up diligently on loan repayments for the assigned portfolio.
6. Assess customer suitability in strict adherence to the company’s credit policies.
7. Gather market feedback and collaborate with internal teams to enhance customer service and sales strategies.

1. Hold a degree or diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
2. Possess at least 3 years of sales experience, preferably within the microfinance or broader financial services sector.
3. Demonstrate a proven track record of achieving sales targets and effectively managing customer relationships.
4. Exhibit a strong understanding of credit risk assessment and loan repayment management principles.
5. Possess excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
6. Be self-motivated, professional, and committed to upholding ethical conduct and confidentiality.
7. Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms.
