Finance Intern

Reporting to the Project Accountant, the Finance Intern will be responsible for processing accounting payables, checking invoice accuracy, and managing financial records.

1. Process Accounting Payables in compliance with financial policies and procedures
2. Check accuracy of invoices
3. Input and code invoices to cost centre
4. Process invoices
5. Match invoices with purchase orders (if applicable)
6. Send invoices to manager for payment approval
7. Schedule payments based on standard company payment terms
8. Verify and process petty cash claims and manage the approval and payment process
9. Update and maintain vendor database in a timely manner
10. Perform reconciliations including supplier statements and accounts reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and more
11. Support the month end process by providing supporting documentation for month end journals
12. Report on aged payables plus other ad hoc reporting where applicable
13. Identify improvements to the accounts payables process
14. Raising of customer receipts

1. Currently pursuing a BS degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
2. Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts principles
3. Proven ability to calculate, post and manage financial records
4. Accurate data entry skills
5. Ability to prioritise and multitask
6. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
7. Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and SAP B1(added Advantage)
