Job Description

The role focuses on market penetration, client acquisition, relationship management, and bid participation, while ensuring compliance with Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) guidelines and NSSF Tier II requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify, prospect, and acquire new clients and corporate pension schemes for segregated funds and Umbrella Fund Segregated solutions.
  2. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with trustees, HR managers, employers, and high-net-worth individuals.
  3. Present proposals, pitches, and solutions to clients and decision-makers.
  4. Drive revenue growth by achieving set sales targets and market share expansion.
  5. Guide corporates and individuals through the onboarding process into segregated schemes.
  6. Support client migration and compliance with NSSF Tier II contributions, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements.
  7. Collaborate with fund managers, administrators, and trustees to deliver seamless onboarding and service delivery.
  8. Monitor and track tender opportunities in pensions and asset management.
  9. Prepare, compile, and submit high-quality tender documents in compliance with requirements.
  10. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of tender submissions.
  11. Build networks with procurement officers and institutional stakeholders to position the company competitively.
  12. Conduct continuous market research to identify emerging pension and asset management opportunities.
  13. Monitor competitive trends and provide insights for product positioning and business growth.
  14. Develop and implement strategies to penetrate retail, salaried, and institutional segments.
  15. Work with product and investment teams to design, develop, and promote pension and investment products.
  16. Create innovative solutions to diversify revenue streams in the segregated fund space.
  17. Partner with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and client education initiatives.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  2. Professional qualifications such as CISI, CFA, or pensions/retirement certification will be an added advantage.
  3. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in business development within pensions, asset management, or financial services.
  4. Experience in tender preparation, submission, and institutional business acquisition.
  5. Demonstrated track record in acquiring and managing corporate pension schemes and segregated business.
  6. Knowledge of investment classes.
  7. Customer, market and competitor understanding.
  8. Effective negotiation skills.
  9. Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  10. Report writing skills.
