School of Nursing Principal

Diocese of Embu Consolata Hospital Kyeni is a faith-based healthcare institution providing quality healthcare services and nursing education through its School of Nursing.

Reporting to the CEO, the Principal will oversee the academic and administrative leadership of the School of Nursing. The successful candidate will ensure nursing graduates meet Nursing Council of Kenya standards while promoting academic excellence and professional conduct. The role requires a highly experienced nursing professional capable of managing educational programmes, staff, quality assurance, and institutional performance.

1. Provide leadership to the School of Nursing.
2. Ensure academic excellence and regulatory compliance.
3. Promote student success and overall management of the school.
4. Set the tone for clinical professionalism.
5. Ensure graduates meet Nursing Council standards.

1. BSc Nursing minimum.
2. MSc in Nursing Education, Administration or Public Health will be an added advantage.
3. Registered with and in good standing with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a current practicing license.
4. Over 5 years' clinical experience, with at least 3 years in nursing education or management.
5. Strong knowledge of competency-based education and nursing pedagogy.
6. Proven leadership, budgeting, and conflict resolution skills.
7. Good communication, report writing, and IT skills.
8. Familiarity with quality assurance and accreditation processes.
9. High integrity, professionalism, and a student-centered mindset.
10. Calm under pressure, decisive, and good at mentoring staff and students.
11. Must demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
12. Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams.
13. Must demonstrate commitment to operational effectiveness.
14. Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant business knowledge.
15. Should demonstrate professional expertise in the relevant work area.
16. Must be a flexible person who is willing to learn and able to work flexible hours to achieve goals.
17. Ability to translate and communicate biblical values / hospital ethics in personal life and professional life.
