Toll Attendant

MOJA Expressway Company Limited operates the Nairobi Expressway, a critical transportation infrastructure project in Kenya, focusing on efficient traffic management and toll collection.

The Toll Attendant is responsible for collecting toll fees from motorists, offering customer support, and maintaining efficient traffic flow at toll plazas. This position requires strong customer service skills, accuracy in handling cash, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic outdoor environment along the Nairobi Expressway.

1. Collect toll payments using various methods, including cash, credit/debit cards, and electronic payments.
2. Issue receipts and provide accurate change when necessary.
3. Verify electronic toll passes and resolve any payment discrepancies.
4. Maintain precise transaction records and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift.
5. Offer directions and basic travel information to motorists.
6. Report equipment malfunctions, traffic incidents, or suspicious activities to supervisors.
7. Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
8. Keep the toll booth area clean and organized.

1. Professional work experience in computers and accounting is preferred.
2. Basic IT skills are required.
3. A Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or an equivalent professional qualification from a recognized and accredited institution.
4. Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, or cash handling is preferred.
5. Basic mathematical skills and strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to operate computerized toll systems and point-of-sale equipment.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
9. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and work in various weather conditions.
10. Capacity for hard work and adherence to company management requirements.
11. Must be between 20-35 years old.
