UI/UX Designer

Britam is a leading diversified financial services group, established in 1965, offering a wide range of financial products and services including insurance. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, the company operates across East and Southern Africa.

The UI Designer will be a key member of Britam's dynamic team, responsible for designing intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces for various digital products. The role requires a passion for user-centered design and a drive to create seamless and engaging user experiences within a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

1. Collaborate with senior designers and project managers to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
2. Assist in the design and development of wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and user interface components using design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma.
3. Participate in user research and usability testing activities to gather feedback and insights for iterative design improvements.
4. Work closely with developers and other team members to ensure the effective implementation of UI designs, while maintaining consistency and usability across different platforms and devices.
5. Stay updated on industry trends, design principles, and best practices in UI/UX design to support continuous improvement and innovation.
6. Contribute ideas and solutions to enhance the user experience and visual appeal of digital products and interfaces.
7. Document design processes, decisions, and guidelines to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.

1. Hold a degree in Computer Science, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field from an accredited institution.
2. Possess a strong interest in UI/UX design and be proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar software.
3. Demonstrate creative flair and a keen eye for detail, with a passion for creating elegant and user-friendly designs.
4. Be familiar with design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
5. Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
6. Be able to accept constructive feedback and iterate on designs to achieve optimal outcomes.
7. Show enthusiasm for learning and a strong desire to develop skills and knowledge in UI design.
