Job Description

Freds Ranch & Resort invites passionate and skilled individuals to join our esteemed hospitality team as a Waiter. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a renowned establishment known for its commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction within Kenya's thriving tourism sector.

As a Waiter, you will be at the forefront of our guest experience, engaging with a diverse clientele and ensuring every meal is a memorable occasion. Your ability to anticipate needs, provide attentive service, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere will be key to upholding our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Warmly greet and seat guests, presenting menus and taking food and beverage orders accurately.
  2. Provide detailed information on menu items, daily specials, and beverage selections, offering recommendations as appropriate.
  3. Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring high standards of presentation and hygiene.
  4. Anticipate guest needs and respond to requests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and service stations, before, during, and after service.
  6. Process payments accurately using the POS system and handle cash or card transactions responsibly.
  7. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bar staff, and other team members to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
  8. Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations of the resort and Kenyan authorities.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience as a Waiter or in a similar customer service role, preferably within a hotel, resort, or high-volume restaurant setting.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, professional, and engaging demeanor.
  3. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure.
  4. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and basic menu comprehension.
  5. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by the resort's operational needs.
  6. A valid Food Handler's Certificate from a recognized Kenyan health authority is a significant advantage.
  7. Basic proficiency in English; knowledge of Swahili or other local languages is an added advantage.
