Job Description
This role is crucial for guest satisfaction, involving the meticulous maintenance of high standards of hygiene and presentation across all accommodation areas. The Room Steward will be an integral part of our housekeeping team, working diligently to uphold the resort's reputation for excellence and provide a pristine environment for our guests.
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a welcoming and immaculate setting, ensuring that every guest room reflects the quality and luxury synonymous with Freds Ranch & Resort. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service in a dynamic hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitising bathrooms.
- Replenish guest room supplies such as toiletries, towels, and stationery.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items promptly to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas and corridors as assigned.
- Handle guest requests and complaints courteously and efficiently, escalating when necessary.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Manage laundry and linen collection and distribution as per resort standards.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and special assignments as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills and a polite, professional demeanour.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- KCSE certificate or equivalent.
