Job Description

The Social Media Manager Assistant will play a crucial role in managing Tuko Media's social media presence. This involves understanding audience dynamics, developing engaging content, fostering conversations, and utilizing data analytics to ensure social media efforts translate into tangible results. The ideal candidate will be passionate about digital media and skilled in transforming online interactions into meaningful engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Publish Facebook statuses and trending/breaking stories across social media platforms.
  2. Moderate and respond to messages received in all TUKO's inboxes and direct messages.
  3. Interact with TUKO's Facebook readers by responding to comments and posing questions on top-performing posts.
  4. Respond to reviews, recommendations, and community posts on TUKO's Facebook pages.
  5. Moderate comments on the TUKO App available on the Google Play Store.
  6. Share all posts and fulfill other requests from the marketing team and project leads.
  7. Execute special projects assigned by the company.
  8. Moderate comments on TUKO’s official website.
  9. Perform any other tasks as assigned under this role.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience and expertise in managing social media platforms for digital news outlets.
  2. A Bachelor's Degree in a media and communication field.
  3. Strong knowledge of social media publishing tools and best practices.
  4. Excellent copywriting skills for engaging online content.
  5. Proficiency in photo-editing software such as Figma or Canva.
  6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet tight deadlines.
  7. Impeccable communication and interviewing skills, both written and verbal.
  8. A proactive attitude and the ability to go the extra mile.
  9. Capability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  10. Ability to work remotely, requiring a good internet connection and a laptop (minimum Intel Core i3 processor).
