The Biomedical Engineer at AGC Tenwek Hospital is responsible for the full lifecycle management of medical equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test medical equipment and devices to meet safety and performance standards.
- Modify and customize existing medical equipment to enhance functionality and efficiency.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment for optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to healthcare personnel on equipment usage and maintenance.
- Conduct research and collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve equipment-related problems.
- Evaluate new technologies and equipment for potential integration into healthcare facilities.
- Develop and implement quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage and document equipment inventory, including maintenance schedules and service records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, such as physicians, nurses, and technicians, to optimize equipment utilization and patient care.
- Stay informed about advancements in biomedical engineering and healthcare technology through continuous learning.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Be a member of AMEK (Association of Medical Engineers).
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a biomedical or related field.
