Job Description
This role involves serving as a strategic advisor to M-KOPA's Kenya leadership team on critical areas such as organizational design, workforce planning, and developing people strategies that align with business goals. The Lead People Partner will be responsible for overseeing talent reviews, performance calibration, and succession planning for the Kenya client group, including the development of necessary frameworks. Additionally, the role entails leading the resolution of employee relations issues, acting as the primary escalation point for the market, and ensuring consistent compliance with Kenyan labor law. The partner will also drive significant organizational change initiatives, including restructurings, transformations, and cross-functional project delivery, as the people function in Kenya matures alongside the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic advisor to Kenya's leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, and business-aligned people strategy.
- Own and develop frameworks for talent review, performance calibration, and succession planning for the Kenya client group.
- Lead employee relations resolution and serve as the escalation point for the market, ensuring compliance with Kenyan labor law.
- Drive organizational change initiatives, including restructurings, transformations, and cross-functional project delivery.
Requirements
- Possess 8+ years of progressive experience in HR or People Partner roles.
- Have 3–6+ years of experience advising director-level or above executives within fast-growth, matrixed organizations.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Kenyan labor law and the regulatory environment, with direct experience handling employee relations escalations end-to-end.
- Proven experience in designing and executing organizational design, workforce planning, or succession strategies, with evidence of having built a framework.
