Deputy Camps Supervisor

Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) is a leading owner/operator of one of the largest and most prestigious power generating projects in Africa.

The Deputy Camps Supervisor will support camps management in the comprehensive planning, organization, direction, and coordination of wind farm operations. This includes coordinating staff accommodation bookings at satellite camps and barriers with facility managers, providing customer service support to clients, and overseeing all service provisions such as food & beverage, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and facility maintenance across all satellite camps. The role also involves ensuring the proper functioning of irrigation and power systems (solar & generator), daily confirmation of personnel on board (POB) at satellite camps, and assisting with annual calendar events. Furthermore, the supervisor will contribute to safety culture, monitor and resolve camp-related issues, ensure utility water availability, manage access control requests, work towards achieving key performance indicators, and conduct incident reporting and routine checks. Compliance oversight is a key aspect, involving supervision of service providers for facility maintenance (kitchen, laundry, fumigation, etc.), ensuring adherence to LTWP’s OHS Policy, ESMS Camps Management Plan, and HACCP standards across all camps, including Summit Top Camp. The role also requires prompt reporting of service delivery non-compliance and weekly generation of camps operations reports. Additionally, the supervisor is expected to foster collaboration, participate in performance appraisals, and adhere to all LTWP company guidelines, policies, and ethical codes.

1. Assist camps management in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating wind farm functions.
2. Coordinate staff accommodation bookings at satellite camps/barriers with facility managers.
3. Provide customer service support to clients at satellite camps/barriers.
4. Oversee service provision at all satellite camps/barriers, including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Groundskeeping, and Facility maintenance.
5. Ensure all satellite camp irrigation and power systems (Solar & Generator) are in good working order and adequately fuelled.
6. Conduct daily Satellite Camp POB confirmation.
7. Assist in planning and executing annual calendar events/functions/open days.
8. Regularly post on Safety Culture and monitor/close out camps-related issues.
9. Monitor and coordinate utility water availability at all Satellite Camps (boreholes/pipeline/reticulation/deliveries).
10. Monitor Satellite Camps Access Control requests and manage standby cards.
11. Work towards achieving all set KPIs and maintain relevant documentation.
12. Report incidents and conduct routine checks on boreholes/pipelines.
13. Conduct weekly inspections at various camps (zones).
14. Supervise service providers (SLA’s) for Satellite Camps facility maintenance works (Kitchen, Laundry, Fumigation, ROP, STP, Access control, HVAC).
15. Ensure compliance with LTWP’s OHS Policy and related procedures across the Camps.
16. Participate in ESMS – Camps Management Plan inspections for audit compliance.
17. Ensure all LTWP Camps/Barriers and Summit Top Camp comply with HSE, ESMS, and HACCP standards.
18. Act in compliance with LTWP policies & procedures, and HSE Golden Rules.
19. Promptly report non-compliance of service delivery to Camps Management.
20. Update/generate weekly Camps Operations reports.
21. Support collaborative working, share best practices, and collaborate with colleagues.
22. Ensure full participation in the Performance Appraisal Review (PAR) process and maintain training records.
23. Always act and behave in compliance with LTWP company guidelines and policies, including values, behaviours, EHS, ethics, and codes of conduct.
24. Perform any other duties deemed necessary and relevant by management for smooth Wind Farm Site operations.

1. Hold a Diploma in hospitality management, foods and dietetics, home economics, or an equivalent qualification.
2. Possess at least 3 years of relevant experience.
