Job Description
Mwananchi Credit Limited is seeking a dedicated Collection & Recovery Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of overdue loan accounts, implementing effective strategies for timely recovery, and engaging directly with clients to resolve outstanding debts. This position is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the institution by ensuring efficient debt collection processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of delinquent loan accounts and ensure timely recovery
- Conduct calls, follow-ups, and field visits to negotiate repayment plans with defaulting clients
- Perform skip tracing to locate customers who have become unreachable
- Liaise with auctioneers and legal teams for the repossession and recovery of collateral when necessary
Requirements
- Hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in collections or recovery, preferably within the microfinance or banking sector
- Demonstrate strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Be proficient in using collections software/CRM and MS Excel/reporting tools
