Job Description
The Line Maintenance Outstation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and administration of all Line Maintenance Outstations. The primary goal is to ensure that all Kenya Airways and third-party flight schedules operate with high quality, safety, cost-efficiency, and punctuality, thereby contributing to the company's strategic objectives. This involves a comprehensive approach to managing maintenance operations at various outstations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze technical delays and implement actions to improve dispatch performance at Line Outstations.
- Ensure technical safety and punctuality of KQ and customer flights at Line Outstations through regular technical oversight visits.
- Assist the Lead in assessing the cost-effectiveness of outsourced line stations through thorough analysis.
- Participate in the setup of new Line stations, including capability assessment and securing regulatory approvals.
- Build professional relationships with Line Maintenance management and regulatory authorities across the network to ensure adequate support during regular and contingency situations.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and standards for maintenance activities at Line Outstations.
- Provide budget inputs and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Confirm the availability of required tools, equipment, ground support equipment, and serviceable spares to maintain safety and cost efficiency at Line Outstations.
- Support Line Outstations during Quality Audits and ensure prompt resolution of audit findings.
- Provide technical and logistical support to Outstations during Aircraft On Ground (AOG) recoveries.
- Liaise, control, and update contractual agreements with organizations Kenya Airways is contracted to handle, proactively anticipating customer needs.
- Develop and maintain effective communication and contact with contracted companies and customers.
- Serve as the main technical focal point for outstations to the MCC regarding resource availability, facilities, and contacts.
- Prepare and submit monthly performance reports for Line Maintenance Outstations.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably directed by the Lead – Line Maintenance Outstations.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of working experience, with a minimum of 2 years in an aircraft maintenance environment.
- Aircraft Type Training on one or more aircraft within the Kenya Airways fleet is an advantage.
- University graduate or Diploma in a relevant field.
