Accounts Payable Accountant, Automotive

This role involves overseeing the accounts payable function for a client in the automotive sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier invoices, performing reconciliations, and processing payments, with a strong emphasis on maintaining accuracy, ensuring timely execution, and upholding robust financial controls throughout the process.

1. Match local purchase orders (LPOs), goods received notes (GRNs), and supplier invoices before posting them.
2. Promptly post verified invoices and resolve any discrepancies that arise.
3. Reconcile supplier accounts and maintain precise supplier ledgers.
4. Prepare weekly aged payables reports and monthly payment schedules.
5. Process supplier and utility payments according to approved terms and deadlines.
6. Prepare import costings and maintain accurate landed-cost records.
7. Maintain dashboards to track LPOs, invoices, payments, and outstanding balances.
8. Ensure compliance with Withholding Tax (WHT) and WHT VAT regulations, including monthly iTax reconciliations.
9. Provide support for month-end closing activities, audits, and internal financial controls.

1. Possess relevant accounting qualifications and practical experience in accounts payable.
2. Demonstrate strong knowledge of supplier reconciliations, three-way matching processes, and payment controls.
3. Have experience in import costing, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
4. Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems, with a preference for Odoo experience.
5. Exhibit strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
6. Possess good communication, follow-up, and supplier relationship management skills.
