Java House Africa is a well-established hospitality company founded in 1999, with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. They operate in the food and beverage sector.

Operations Team Member

1. Deliver food orders from the kitchen to tables promptly and accurately.
2. Ensure food presentation, temperature, and quality meet restaurant standards.
3. Communicate with kitchen and service staff regarding order status and guest needs.
4. Maintain the cleanliness of the waiter stations and the restaurant.
5. Always follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
6. Assist with restocking condiments.
7. Support opening and closing duties as assigned depending on the business dynamics.
8. Maintains a clean, tidy and working tables at all times.
9. Presenting a variety of menu options and take lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences.
10. Consistently follows the set Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.Ps) during production.
11. Taking orders and delivering them to the table neatly and accurately in accordance to the ticket specification and presenting bills on time and accept payment.
12. Cleaning of pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, guest and staff toilets, equipment/machines and sanitization of general kitchen.
13. Ensure proper waste management by disposing of bins and cleaning of grease traps.
14. Food preparation, presentation, correct storage and production of the right quality.
15. Assist the wait staff during busy shifts to reduce the customer wait time and ensure all meals are served hot and fresh.
16. Cleaning of guest and staff washrooms.
17. Cleaning and sanitization of general kitchen.
18. Ensure proper waste management by disposing of bins and cleaning of grease traps.
19. Correct use of detergent.

1. Must be a good planner, ability to think and make quick decisions under pressure, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
2. Must be flexible, a team player, highly responsible & reliable.
3. Must be customer-oriented and have excellent customer care technique and application.
4. Ability to up sell and inform our guest on new menu product.
5. Must be result oriented, self-driven, articulate and pro-active.
6. In-house training in service.
7. 6 months working experience as a certified Java House Staff.
8. Ability to work under pressure and long hours.
9. Must have a KCSE certificate with a mean grade of C plain.
10. Must be interested in hospitality industry.
11. Should have a sound menu and product knowledge.
12. Should have been in the company for at least six months or have equivalent skills from a food and beverage set up.
