Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is a government agency responsible for the assessment, collection, and accounting for all revenues that are due to the government of Kenya.

Job Description

The jobholder will be responsible for Coordinating and executing all procurement operations in line with the KRASPS procurement policies, guidelines, best practice and the prevailing procurement law and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate and implement procurement and disposal activities in line with the Scheme’s procurement policies, applicable laws, and best practices.
  2. Support the development and review of procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.
  3. Prepare procurement documents including RFQs, RFPs, TORs, specifications, and purchase orders.
  4. Coordinate supplier prequalification processes and maintain an updated supplier database.
  5. Consolidate procurement requirements from departments and coordinate timely delivery of goods and services.
  6. Monitor procurement activities to ensure compliance with approved budgets and achievement of value for money.
  7. Develop, maintain, and track supplier and service provider contracts in liaison with relevant stakeholders and management.
  8. Maintain proper procurement records, filing systems, and safe custody of tender and contract documents.
  9. Support evaluation committee processes and implementation of procurement decisions.
  10. Coordinate communication with suppliers on tenders, awards, regrets, and contract follow-up.
  11. Prepare the annual procurement plan in liaison with the Finance Department.
  12. Produce monthly inventory and asset tracking reports.
  13. Ensure office equipment and facilities are functional at all times by coordinating repairs, maintenance, and replacements.
  14. Attend procurement meetings, record proceedings, and communicate resolutions.
  15. Support business continuity, health and safety, disaster recovery, and emergency response initiatives.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  2. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar procurement or supply chain management role
  3. Membership to Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) professional body.
  4. Strong planning, organizational, and coordination skills.
  5. Good negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Business acumen and attention to detail.
  8. Ability to manage conflict and work under pressure.
  9. Proactive, resilient, and results-oriented.
  10. Good ICT and procurement systems skills.
